Use separate schedules for selling positions and reserve stock. Display capacity describes the merchandise visible in a stated arrangement; reserve capacity describes the packaged inventory stored elsewhere. Record facings, units deep, package sizes, carton sizes and replenishment access. Add these figures only after confirming they refer to distinct stock, and review shelf loading independently from package counts.
Plan with a Specific Cabinet Format.

Booster & Sealed Walls: what to specify.
For separating display capacity from reserve storage, use the following requirements from the linked fixture system to make the next supplier discussion concrete. These are planning inputs, not tested performance ratings.
- Pack format
- Record loose packs, display boxes and hanging packaging separately.
- Customer access
- Choose open selection or staff-assisted access according to the merchandise and store operation.
- Restock depth
- Separate the visible sales quantity from the stock behind each facing.
- Quantity and included options
- List unit quantities, the selected access and storage arrangement, finish reference and destination. Distinguish included components from requested options.
Three decisions for your fixture purchase.
- 01
Count selling facings and units deep separately from reserve cartons.
- 02
State units and packaging level in every capacity calculation.
- 03
Trial replenishment and review load requirements before accepting a storage arrangement.
Define the stock states
Divide the brief into merchandise on sale, reserve inventory and operational stock such as incoming or temporarily held items. Identify the packaging level for each figure: individual packs, retail boxes or outer cartons. A broad request to store a certain number of products can otherwise count the same stock twice or size compartments for the wrong container.

Count the selling arrangement
For each display bay, list the number of facings across, the units behind each facing and the number of usable shelves. In a hypothetical arrangement, four facings holding two retail boxes each across three shelves gives 24 displayed boxes. The result applies only to that package and arrangement. It should not be presented as a fixed capacity for a cabinet model.

Build a separate reserve worksheet
Record reserve containers by outside size, quantity and the number of retail units each contains. Label part-filled cartons if they are part of daily operation. For example, six reserve cartons containing four retail boxes each represents 24 reserve boxes, provided these are additional to the displayed stock. Keep the carton count visible so the required storage geometry is not lost in a total unit figure.

Review the usable compartment
Check the internal opening, hinges, shelf supports and the movement needed to place a full carton into the compartment. Include any lid that opens in storage and the space used to grip the container. A carton may fit at rest but be difficult to remove through the door. Trial the actual box in the intended orientation rather than relying solely on the external cabinet dimensions.
Walk the replenishment route
Move an intended stock container from its reserve position to the selling shelf. Identify the surface where staff sort or open it and any temporary obstruction in the staff route. Record how often replenishment occurs and which products require assisted access. A large reserve compartment is useful only if the transfer process fits the available operating space.
Keep weight and capacity as separate checks
Provide the weight and arrangement of the intended loaded containers when reviewing shelves and supports. A count of packages does not establish a safe load, and the same unit count can represent very different merchandise. Agree the load requirement and its verification in the project documents. Do not turn a visual capacity illustration into a structural rating.
Allow for assortment changes
Identify which package families are likely to grow or change. Review adjustable shelves, removable dividers and the limits on moving them. Decide how reserve locations will be relabelled when the assortment changes, and retain the approved layout for the current release. Future stock should be described as a planning scenario with its assumptions, rather than silently included in current capacity.
Quote the complete storage operation
Send BENSON a selling-stock schedule and a separate reserve schedule, with package photographs, container dimensions and required access. Mark locks, dividers, shelving and drawer inserts as included or optional. Ask the proposal to show the usable dimensions and the stock-transfer route. Keep the accepted quantities tied to the named package families and drawing revision.
Translate the guidance into a specification check.
Use these parameters to record the actual merchandise, clear dimensions and configuration required for the cabinet quotation.
Compare one controlled basis.
How we apply this decision.
For separating display capacity from reserve storage, use the records described above with the actual merchandise and site. Trial replenishment and review load requirements before accepting a storage arrangement. Send the matching product references and questions to BENSON so the proposal can identify what is confirmed and what remains open.
Review BENSON capabilities →What still needs configuration confirmation.
This guide provides a procurement method for separating display capacity from reserve storage. It does not establish fixed dimensions, capacity, load ratings, certification, protective performance, commercial terms or delivery outcomes. Confirm the selected construction, site conditions and required evidence in the approved project documents.
Prepare the required inputs →Avoid these shortcuts.
- Treating a reference image as an approved production specification.
- Comparing suppliers without identical dimensions, quantities and delivery scope.
- Separating material, lighting or hardware decisions from the drawing revision.
- Leaving packing, local installation and site interfaces undefined.
Before the next approval.
- Count selling facings and units deep separately from reserve cartons.
- State units and packaging level in every capacity calculation.
- Trial replenishment and review load requirements before accepting a storage arrangement.
- Record each open point, owner, due date and required evidence.
Answers to the next practical questions.
01Can display and reserve counts be combined?+
Yes, when they refer to separate stock and the same unit of account. Keep the individual schedules available so a total does not conceal different packaging or access requirements.
02Why is an exterior cabinet size insufficient?+
Frames, doors and hardware reduce usable space. The opening and the handling movement may constrain a reserve carton even when the resting compartment appears large enough.
03Does the worksheet confirm shelf loading?+
No. It records stock geometry and quantities. Provide loaded-container weights and confirm the shelf, support and verification requirements separately.
