EXISTING STORE / CABINET EXTENSION

Add display space with the existing store in view.

A single extra counter or a longer wall run starts with the fixtures already installed. Use this brief to decide what can remain, what must be measured and which interfaces need approval.

01

Measure the installed run

Mark each existing cabinet on a floor plan. Record overall width, depth and height, countertop level, toe-kick setback and floor variations. Photograph each measurement with its location code.

02

Check the interface

Record end panels, countertop overhangs, door swing, wall clearance and cable exits. Joining cabinets needs an agreed connection detail; matching outside dimensions alone does not establish compatibility.

03

Confirm merchandise and stock

Measure the largest actual holder or packaged item. Separate visible stock from reserve storage, then check usable internal space and a staff retrieval trial.

04

Approve the finish in context

Supply an existing finish sample or a clearly identified reference. Review a proposed physical sample under the store lighting; photographs alone cannot establish a finish match.

05

Preserve daily access

Mark the delivery route, opening sizes, assembly area and equipment positions. Check customer and staff circulation against applicable local requirements with your project adviser.

06

Release an agreed drawing

List quantities, existing and new modules, connection details, electrical responsibilities and exclusions. Approve a dated drawing and finish record before production; resolve unknown dimensions first.

Choose the next step for your extension.

For a freestanding addition, confirm its footprint, access and power independently. For a cabinet joined to an installed run, obtain measured interface details and a connection drawing. If an existing finish or connection cannot be confirmed, discuss a separately finished module rather than assuming a match.

Send a useful photo record.

Include a wide view of the run, front and side views with a ruler, the exposed end panel, the floor junction, cable routes and the delivery opening. Label every photo with the floor-plan location and date. Share customer-free images or obtain the necessary permission.

Keep a record from sample to delivery.

Attach the approved drawing revision and finish reference to the cabinet schedule. At delivery, match package IDs to that schedule, photograph condition before opening, and record unresolved issues using the delivery inspection worksheet.
